Chiropractic Care for Back Pain

Back Pain

Back pain is one of the most common causes of pain and disability – up to 80% of people will experience it at least once!   When pain starts to affect your activities and quality of life, it’s very important to work with health care providers who can help you not only manage pain, but help you return to your favorite activities as soon as possible!

We believe in taking a “whole-person” approach to treatment, and will work with you to create treatment and pain management plan to suit your unique needs and goals.

Common causes of upper and lower back pain

The main thing you want to know when you are in pain is,  “What’s wrong with me?”  Sometimes the problem is obvious, like a fall, car accident, or sports injury.   In the case of chronic back pain though, it’s often “non-specific.”  This means that there may be no obvious or visible cause.  These causes can be physical, like old injuries that didn’t heal well, or those little stresses and strains that your were able to ignore and work through.   yYou may have lifestyle or stress-related issues that cause muscle tension and inflammation.  Sometimes it’s more than one thing — a combination or accumulation of traumas and dramas that your brain and body just can no longer tolerate, and *Pain* is how it makes you stop and pay attention.

Chronic conditions like arthritis, degenerative changes, and disc herniations are common contributors to back pain.  These often respond very well to chiropractic care, especially when combined with strength and mobility exercises.   Managing chronic pain often involves a multi-faceted approach, including exercise, stress management and nutritional support to improve underlying inflammation.

How chiropractic treatment can help

Chiropractic is one of the most effective drug-free, non-surgical treatments for back pain.  Chiropractic adjustments, along with corrective exercises and proper nutrition help improve mobility, strength, and reduce inflammation to help healing.  We can help patients suffering from back pain caused by whiplash, herniated discs, arthritis, and sports injuries.
